A walkthrough of Quinta do Ananás — our first open property. Traditional Azorean pineapple greenhouses, farm animals, organic gardens, and a place to stay that's built around slow living and authentic island life.
Quinta do Ananás is the first of our three properties to welcome guests, and it's the working heart of VIVA Quinta — the place with the traditional Azorean pineapple houses, the farm animals, the organic gardens, and the steady, everyday rhythm of an island farm. If you want to understand what we're building, this is where the story starts.

The traditional Azorean pineapple greenhouses are the signature of this property. They're a piece of São Miguel's agricultural heritage — low, hand-built structures where the island's famous pineapples are grown the slow way, the way they've been grown here for generations. Walking through them is one of the quietest, most distinctive experiences on the farm.
For guests staying at Quinta do Ananás, the pineapple houses aren't a stop on a tour. They're part of the property. You walk past them on the way to breakfast.

The video above is a full walk through the property. You'll see the pineapple houses, meet some of the animals — goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys — and get a sense of what it actually feels like to wake up here. There's a sound to a working farm in the morning that you can't manufacture. Quinta das Ananás has it.
The intention behind every stay is simple: more immersive than a hotel, quieter than a tourist itinerary. Slow mornings. Meals built from what the gardens and our kitchen are putting out that week. The kind of fresh air you remember after you leave.
Quinta do Ananás is built for staying a while. Families spread out across the property and find their own corners. Couples come for the quiet and the food. Small groups book the whole thing and use it as a base for exploring São Miguel without ever feeling like they're in a hotel.
If you're traveling for a peaceful nature retreat, a romantic escape, or a multi-generational trip where everyone needs some space, this is the property we'd point you to first.
