It's a basalt stone farmhouse on the Malaca property, more than a century old, restored and added on to over the years while keeping the soul of the original structure intact. The name means Passionfruit Farm in Portuguese — fitting, because the house sits directly above one of our oldest passionfruit fields, with a view down across the rows from its front patio.
Quinta do Maracujá is three bedrooms and three bathrooms — generous for families, friend groups, or wedding parties looking for a private house close to the rest of the estate. The renovation kept everything worth keeping. The original basalt stone walls. The interior stone arches that anchor the main rooms. The basalt accents that show up throughout the house, tying every space back to the volcanic geology the building came from.
The new work adds modern comfort without dressing the place up as something it isn't. The bones are still the bones.
